Morristown is located in the middle of Lamoille County, just north of Stowe. The main population center is the Village of Morrisville (pop. 2009) which is the most populated village in the county. The area's two main roads (Routes 100 and 15) meet in the Village. Morrisville is the business center of the county and contains Copley Hospital, the only hospital in the county as well as the major grocery stores. For better or worse, Morrisville contains Lamoille County's only "real" traffic light.
Lamoille Area Recreational Center (LARC), an area ice rink and exercise facility, opened in 2004 beside Lake Lamoille. River Arts, an organization which promotes the arts through classes and various other activities, has set up shop in the old Grange building.
