Johnson is in the middle of Lamoille County. It is the home of Johnson State College and an active artist's community (Vermont Studio Center). Most of the population, and activity, is concentrated in the Village. There is a rejuvenation project going on with money obtained by Senator Patrick Leahy to spruce up the village with new sidewalks, street lights and general renovation.
