Cambridge is on the Western edge of Lamoille County and is starting to feel the effects of expansion from the Burlington area.  There are two villages in the town, Cambridge and Jeffersonville.  Smuggler's Notch Ski area is a major tourist destination which caters to families. 

The town's name was probably chosen to commemorate an early battle of the Revolutionary War as a number of town founders were involved in the Revolution.
