Caroline Ballard grew up in Philadelphia, PA spending winter vacations in Vermont. After attending undergraduate school at Dartmouth Caroline earned her Veterinary degree at the University of Pennsylvania. While at Penn she met Jerry Smith who she married. They jointly established an all feline veterinary practice in Northern New Jersey. Moving to Vermont full time has allowed Caroline to spend more time outside kayaking, snowshoeing, hiking. and watching the birds go by. With Jerry's help she is learning some building skills. Starting a new career in real estate has been exciting. She has gone back to the classroom for specialized training to qualify as an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and as a Senior Residential Specialist (SRES). She is also trying to improve her computer skills while acting as website coordinator for the Lamoille Community Foodshare in addition to her other duties as volunteer and President of the board.
